Established in 1898, Northeastern University is a private college with the academic staff of 1850 and total number of students was 27,400 as of fall of 2019. There are 18,350 undergraduates and 9000 postgraduates by the fall of 2019. It has international students coming from 144 countries. The international students cover 34% of the total students.

The main campus is situated in the city of Boston. There are many other campuses other than that. Charlotte, Burlington, London (UK), Portland, San Francisco, Nahant, Silicon Valley, Seattle, Vancouver & Toronto are the satellite campuses. Both undergraduate and graduate programs are offered in the main Boston campus.
Recently, they have added the New College of Humanities in London. Another campus to be opened in Vancouver, Canada is in planning.
Based on the area of interest they have many programs. Like, for Analytics there are 7 programs, 21 programs for business, 16 programs for digital media and communications, 15 programs for education and learning. They have 229 fields at undergraduate and graduate level.
They also have a huge focus of co-curricular activities. Activities like volleyball, Field Hockey, Baseball, and many more. They also have a strong network of alumni of 260,000 and more across the globe in 179 countries. Many famous personalities like Andrew Left, Pran Nath, Jose Juan Barea, Mary Florentine, are among a few.
