About University
New Jersey Institute of Technology is one of the nation’s leading public technological Universities located in Newark. It was established by the name of Newark Technical School in 1881 only with 88 students. BY the year of 1975 it was renamed as New Jersey Institute of Technology. The University has campuses situated in different locations. Main Campus is situated in Newark and others are in Long Island, New York, Jonesboro, Arkansas Etc. NJIT also has campuses in other countries Vancouver, Canada, Abu Dhabi, UAE, and China.
University offers 120 Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D programs in various Study Area provided six schools and colleges named Albert Dorman Honors College, Hillier College of Architecture and Design, Ying Wu College of Computing, Newark College of Engineering, College of Science and Liberal Arts and Martin Tuchman School of Management. University has highly qualified and experienced faculty amongst whom 98% hold the highest degree in their field. University enrolled more than 11000 students every year.
University also offers a number of services including nonremedial tutoring, Women’s center, Placement Services, Health Services and Health Insurance. NJIT also provides campus safety and security services include late night transport / escort service, 24 hour Emergency telephones, lighted pathways/ sidewalks. University provides library on its campus also.
