About University

The Southern Institute of Technology, which is the biggest technical institute in New Zealand, is a public institution. SIT was established in 1971 when its Zero Fees system became common. This, in fact, allows for a low and affordable tuition rate for foreign students. The primery campus is at Invercargill and the other five campuses are at Gore, Queenstown, Christchurch, Telford and Auckland. There are nine schools and divisions at the Southern courses and degrees Institute of Technology in which they are offered. At the postgraduate, graduate, bachelor, diploma and certificate levels, SIT offers more than 200 programmes in a variety of academic, technical and professional subjects. It is a member of the Universities International Association. SIT is home to over 13,000 students enrolled in a range of programmes, including an increasing number of international students.

The university fees is rather minimal and the friendly and welcoming support team members make sure that when studying at SIT, international students are at home. SIT has several worldwide collaboration , from the United States to India, China to Germany, Australia to Japan and more. Many of the SIT programs are connected to SIT and its other institutions in New Zealand and around the world with higher level qualifications.To ensure that graduates have optimum mobility, SIT is improving rapidly these partnership. Students will receive a global education while studying at SIT.
